A Great Day at Work

There are some days when you're at work when everything falls into place and you realize that today is a great day at work. In fact since I took a demotion from supervisor and moved over to the the new County of Riverside radio system project as a Data Network Engineer just about every day is a great day at work. I won't say there aren't frustrations, because even the most perfect job has them, but when you're not going home every day and wanting to kick the cat you know you're in a better place. What really makes a great day at work for me is some of the people I get to meet and the places I get to go. Since one of my former colleagues left the County I took on some of his work. So I am now in charge of the existing site upgrades, bringing the current County radio sites up to date. This involves heading out to these sites with our contractors and one such site is Santiago Peak. It's about a 90 minute drive to the radio sites on top of Santiago Peak and when you get there the view is spectacular. On one side you look easterly into Riverside County, on the other side you look west over Orange County and the Pacific Ocean.
